OK, dig this!!! The Sermon, one of the coolest, loudest, rock'n'roll bands in San Francisco perform at The Depot on the SF State campus in the Caesar Chavez student center, this Thursday March 12th from 4:30 until around 8, or later if the scene is happening! The Sermon take elements of garage, blues and pure rock'n'roll energy and combine it with the wailingest theremin effects to create a pure aural experience that will blow your mind!

Here's a link to their myspace page:

They are performing not one, but TWO sets, and in between, I'll spin some of my finest tunes to keep the room vibrating with the beat! It is gonna be a complete blast, with nonstop rock'n'roll excitement!

As ever, The Depot is FREE, and spirits are available at the bar for those over 21 with ID, but the show itself is all ages!

LilahWild came over today to help me sort out my room, as part of her extremely helpful new Organizing business! It was a tremendous help, and I was thoroughly impressed by Lilah's approach, and determination in getting through the rather daunting task of cleaning out and arranging my closet into something that does not make me wail every time I go into it!

It took 4 hours just to go through the closet, the rest of the room will happen another time. It is intense, exhausting work when done right. But somehow, Lilah made it fun as well!

I now have a huge box of trash, a huge box for Goodwill, and a few bags to drag to Buffalo Exchange and/or share with friends. Of course I also don't want to force my pink elephants on anyone. (OK, I *know* the proper term is "white" elephant, but trust me - my closet, these elephants are pink! Or glittery. Or velvet.)

It was wonderful to rediscover items I had lost or forgotten I have, and finally put in perspective and let go of things I'd held on to just cos I couldn't make a decision about them. We made things easier to get to, and even cleared out the disreputable corner of my room by the door. There will need to be fine-tuning, but overall I am thrilled and impressed!

I think in this era where people are trying to utilize the space they have in the best way possible, and are "going shopping in their closets" this is a fabulous and worthwhile service. And having it done by someone who understands individual tastes and needs is a definite plus! Subculture folks need this service as much as anyone else, and it makes such a difference to have someone in who *understands!*

NOW I have to make myself haul the things to Goodwill, etc, rather than leaving them in the hallway to become cat toys, playgrounds, etc.

All right! Tomorrow, Wednesday January 28th, I will be back at The Depot from 5-7 pm! The Depot is in the spacious downstairs cavern of the Ceasar Chavez Student Center, located smack dab in the center of the SF State campus. As always, it is FREE! Oh yeah!

Tomorrow's spin is going to be extra special, AND there'll be two lovely DJs spinning for your listening awe! Miss Lilah Wild is joining me for varied trip through the music that fueled and fired the clubs in LA in the 1980's. You may not remember (Hell, the SF State students won't - were they even born then?) Raji's, The Fetish, Club Lingerie, the Lhasa Club, The Batcave, The Music Machine, Cathouse and The Scream, but we'll be spinning the sounds and the spirit that made those clubs the places to dance, dress up and be seen. You think you know "eighties music" - well listen to this!

Come experience the LA Eighties Explosion!

Today was a kind of perfect, manageable level of busy. I had two morning sits, then Brad took the car in for the smog check nonsense while I handled calls, emails, paid bills, etc. He got back, we had a little breakfast/lunch, then went and did a toe nail trim, and a big all over shave on Gregor's cat. This cat is 20+ pounds, and not mean at all, but definitely resistant to being clipped, so it was a little fight, but not too bad. At least he is a sturdy cat with healthy skin! There was a little drama, but overall it went well, and I think everyone is happier, including the kitty, now that the mats are gone.

Afterwards we did one more sit, two more toe nail trims, and then home to hot chocolate and PJs.

Tomorrow I only have one sit, and a couple of meetings, plus I have to pick up a kitten for Thursday morning surgery. But apart from work there is fun! My long time friend Lisa is back in SF in a stopover from Hong Kong, and we are meeting for tea at Samovar (Miss Lilah, our time will come soon! Next week maybe?)then I am meeting feyandstrange for long awaited girly fun downtown. I have a short shopping agenda, one that includes a purple eyeliner pencil (mine is down to a nubbier nub)black mascara, and a couple of travel things. Plus, Hedwig has discovered the habit River had at about the same age of chewing make-up brushes. Mine are once again hidden, but a couple were not rescued in time and must be replaced. Teething.

Oh yeah, and I am dyeing my hair tomorrow. I wasn't able to get the orange I wanted, so Cherry Bomb it is.

I started to clean my room. started. I need direction on this.

The rest of this week includes the mass kitten fix surgery (whee, up at 6 to drive five unhappy kittens to San Mateo! Can't wait.) and other stuff I can't recall at the moment. Nails. Dire's show on Friday. Hopefully some time with SFBaybe. And continuing to deal with the car registration drama. grr.

Hope to do some apartment organization next week. The clutter is advancing again, so we're going to store or dispose of some of our outdated media to make some extra space.

I'm a little scattered - it's time to be methodical and make a list again.

I also have this wacky idea - Renaissance Center regularly has their successful graduates come back and talk to the current classes, and I think I would like to volunteer to do that on the topic of the flexibility that is helpful in growing a business, and that, like the best characters in a book, a good business will grow in its own way, and a successful owner has to be open to different directions beyond the original plan. Perhaps there is some ego there, but it is also a way i can give back.

Enough for now. The Wiglette is in my lap and life is pretty spiffy at the moment.

OK, I know there are a ton of games out there that are all about fighting and surviving one's way through a zombie attack.

But are there any Land of the Dead or even Fido post zombie apocalypse semblence of society has sort of been re-established kind of games and how one gets through life in those circumstances, RPG or board game?  If not, this is definitely something the gaming world needs.

BTW, did I mention that J. Michael Strayzinski has been selected to write the screenplay for World War Z?

Got this from Aerinys.  It just takes a moment,  and every little bit helps.  Also, check out their jewelry - some of it is too cutesy, but there are some nifty pieces.

Free Food for Animal Shelter
www.theanimalrescuesite.com

The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "feed an animal in need" for free. It's in a purple box in the middle of the page. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.
